Hello All. My name is Matt Newman and I have joined this forum as I have just bought a 2004 Ford Galaxy 1.9TDDI 130PS. I am interested in speaking with other ford owners to keep up to date with common issues, help etc.

Hi Matt. I just joined the forum. I have owned a 2002 Galaxy 2.0 for four years now. It has just turned 130.000 km's. I live in Tromso, Norway, which gives the Galaxy a cold winter and a moist summertime. Are you happy with yours?

For he most, I like this car. Though it's rather costly to maintain (expensive tyres, windshield wipers and almost anything else), it is a pleasure to own. I normally not use this car for driving in and out of the city, since it's rather thirsty on petrol - I can't get it to use less than a litre per 10 km no matter what I do. It has to be the 2.0 litre engine which is a little to small for such a heavy car.

I generally use it with three back seats (I have three children) and keep the 6th and 7th seat in my garage for special occasions.

I have had to replace both front window elevators due to fatigue. The heating wire in the rearmost window doesn't seem to work. Actually I don't know how and if it has to be turned on or off. Also the heating wires in the windshield seems broken, since they only work on the right side of the windshield (typically, not the driver's side).

Let me hear your experiences and opinions on the Galaxy.
-Ola
