Mondeo, new style has FSH but the steering is showing signs of having a bit of a mind of its own - definite pulling to the left and the right irrespective of the camber of the road - any ideas??

I've had mine for 6 months and roughly 20000 Miles. I have had the same problem for the last 3 Months. After having two new front tyres and a wheel balance, the fault still wasnt rectifed.
3 Weeks before the next Service i had a whine coming from the Steering Wheel. Having visited my local ford dealer with no answer. I took it to a local garage. They diagnosed a fault with one of the Valves on the Power Steering Pump. It was leaking Fluid which was hot, and melting through the Pump Body. As i have an extended warranty due to the car having over 60000 Miles, it was decided best to replace the part at £465.00 + VAT which was covered. I now have no tracking issues.
