 Post subject: mondeo mk3 gearbox crunching/biting into 3rd slightly????

Hi there iv just swopped a pug 306 s reg for this car but it crunches slightly when going into third gear, other wise the car is running sound remarkably as it has 175k on the clock. does any1 know what this crunching could be. many thanks
