hi i have just brought a mondeo 2.0ltr zetec mk2 and i have a bit of a fuel consumption problem when i brought it there was very little petrol in it so i put £20 petrol in it and only done about 45 miles and the needle was back near the empty mark again i cant find any leaks so its very confusing to me the petrol light isnt even on which is even stranger and it wasnt on when i got it neither but petrol needle was well under the empty mark any ideas please thanks all

Hi mate could be a faulty Fuel guage but only way to test correctly fuel usage is fill up to top then set trip take not of milage and price of fuel take it for a run then fill up using same pump and record milage go onto fule http://www.fuel-economy.co.uk and use there fuel calculater to get more accurate consuption rate .

It may be just gauge but do this first then let us know wat it records.
