 Post subject: Ford Ka steering help please!

I was wondering if anyone had any advice.....I have a 2006 Ford Ka. The steering has become quite heavy. There is no loss of power steering fluid. Someone has suggested a faulty steering rack or pump? Any diagnostic help would be much appreciated,
