I have a ford fiesta zetec (March 2006 reg). Since having it, on some journeys over approx 20 miles, orange engine light comes on and message displayed is Transmission error. Before the light comes on the car seems to misfire, loss of power. First time it happened I was doing 60mph and suddenly lost power, very scary. Has been serviced by Ford twice since I purchased each time I have explained the problem and they say it is to do with computer set up. This last time, took to a different garage, they put on diagnostic computer and the code which came up was P1214 which they said was the accelerator and so replaced accelerator pedal and unit. Drove the car from home to Hertfordshire over bank holiday approx 110 miles, after about 45 mins driving the light came on again, exactly the same as before. Taking back to garage tomorrow, but if anyone has any ideas of what it could be I would be grateful

If your engine light has come on it means there is a problem with your car! Take it to a garage get it checked out!
