Hi,

I need to replace some brake hose, pictured,as the inside of my wider alloys has rubbed in to it and it will prob fail mot unless i change it.It hasn't cut completely into the hose, just the thicker rubber surround. The other side is fine, which seems strange.I could do with moving the bracket that holds it round a bit further around that post its attached to.
Can someone advise me what this section of tubing is called and the cheapest place i can get it from.I presume lots of people have similar problems after fitting wider wheels, how do you get round it?

The last thing is that only just recently the brake warning light is coming on very intermittently, usually when braking. It would make sense to think its this dodgly cable however there's no leak. The reservoir is just above minimum, could it be the level is falling below the min line and a sensor is picking it up as low brake fluid in the reservoir?

Thank you all

Sparky

Hi

First thing you have a shock absober this has bracket on it for your Flex brake pipe which is worn the protection pipe which is the thick peace of rubber it helps to protect your flex brake pipe from damage if outer is damaged and no damage to inner part dont worry cos its ok only worry if inner pipe gets and wear.

I have looked at your pics the bracket is defenialty in wrong place should be more to rear thats why your wheel rubed pipe.

bend the bracket round to rear as much as you can and all should be ok.

the warning light issue is a faulty wire connection if your pads are warn down then this will come on but if they not worn then check connections fluid level is good indicator of wear on your brakes the lower the fluid then the more worn your linings.

kind regards

Alan
