 Post subject: whooshing noise

got a whooshing sound when turbo kicks in...all pipe work been checked and ok and not blowing white smoke...any ideas..tdci zetec s

I had the same thing with my ST TDCi. Intercooler pipe had split......

yep i agree the whooshing sound is the intercooler pipe see fords original pipe was made of two halfs and they tended to split on the join as one end was attached to the moving engine and the other was attached to the solid body now ford makes them out of one peice so if you try replacing that pipe your noise should stop hope this helps dougie
