Hi all,my first post here ,any advice welcomed.
I have a 2004 tdci 130. 3days ago after filling up from a low tank the car wouldn't pull, felt like theturbo wasn't coming in.did about 50 miles that day struggling uphills reving but not pulling, read somewhere that this is a limp mode?
Day after was the same in the morning but a drive out in the afternoon everything was as it should be,plenty of go until a short stop off ,then same again no pulling power but this time the engine management light on the dash was lit up.
This morning the light was still on & the engine wouldn't pull, not such a bad thing in the conditions! However on the drive home from work the car was back to pulling ok but the engine light was still lit up.A short a short stop off at home & again no pulling power, light lit up.
Read alot about injectors loosing their codes but wouldn't this be permenant?
sorry for the long post, but again any advice would help.
cheers
Steve

Could be you've sucked up some s**t from the bottom of your tank when it was low, try changing the fuel filter, cheaper first option than injectors and worth doing any way. To reset ecu from limp mode disconnect battery for half an hour.

Well after a diagnostic check, the waste gate on the turbo is stuck open & because of the design a complete turbo is needed.
Does any one know if the fitting the wrong exhaust could cause this?
Last year i had a new exhaust fitted ,the mechanic asked if it was a 115 or130bhp as the 130 had one box at the rear, the 115 had a mid box too .Being a 130 i expected a single rear box type as came off but found later that it had a mid box too.when i told this to the mechanic he said a 115 had a smaller bore & wouldn;t fit the reason for the extra box on mine was to reduce noise.
Would the mid box affect back pressure? & could this damage the turbo?
The turbo was replaced around 30K ago before i bought the car, would have thought it would last longer.
Don't want to spend a grand on a new one if the exhaust is the wrong one & damage it.
Any thoughts on this

Thanks
Steve
