hi ive got a m reg mondeo estate 1.8 petrol mk1.It was running fine until i parked it up for two weeks,now it won't start.Ive changed the plugs and i've got a spark the battery is fine apart from the fact that i have to keep recharghing it when the car won't start. Ive contacted a mechanic who said that my alarm code needs resetting and if i bring it in (laugh) he'llcharge me eighty quid to reset it.Can anyone help thanks.

Sounds a nightmare mate, did you find out if it was the alarm?

hi had similar prob the fuse board drops down by pushing a plastic button maybe easier if you remove the glove box just pull it out and you should see the button to push on the right hand side of fuseboard hope that helps gave up on mine as i think it is/was a prob with the imobiliser solder joints the way around it for me was to reset the ecu for an hour not a fix but it worked then just could not trust it anyhow hope this helps...
