Has anyone got any ideas to modify the interior of my R reg Ka as it looks a bit shoddy????

Try the breakers for the interior from a newer model(http://www.breakeryard.com/) - ideally a Luxury KA with leather, but the ones from 2004 on have much nicer fabric & trim generally. I wouldn't bother with seat covers as they're designed for seats that are much less rounded than the KA's.
If you still have the factory tape player, replace it with a standard CD player, you can get the adaptor from Ebay for about a tenner, and a nice player from maplin - http://www.maplin.co.uk or
