Hi...

I've now done about 31k miles on my focus and I had my front brake disc and pads renewed about six weeks ago, by a local independant garage.

I am not a boy racer and drive fairly conservatively and I bedded in the brakes ok, driving / braking gently for the first few days (about 500 miles) no probs.

Then after about 1000 to 1500 miles the brakes (front p{Bad Word: Moderated}enger side only) now seem to make a slight noise, they sort of squeek and grind a bit, especially after about 5 mins driving, presumable when they have warmed up a bit and expanded? It seems to me like they are binding, possible the pads are sticking? How do I stop this.

The brakes work fine, but the noise is irritating. As soon as i touch the brake pedal the noise goes away, but after braking there is a definite a binding type noise. and not very loud.

Is it simply a case of applying some brake cleaner? if so where? eg: inside the caliper?

If you think I should take it back to the garage (eg; if its serious) I can, but I was hoping not to have to, as I would then need to take a day off work, etc, as I need the car for my work.

If it is simply a matter or taking the wheel off and spraying cleaner on the brakes, I am more than capable of doing that myself.

Many thanx
