Post subject: focus tdi gearbox wont select 5th gear

hi, i have just bought a 2002 focus estate tdi 1.8 and cannot engage 5th gear. will i need to buy a new gearbox or is there a fix for this. and if it is to be a new gearbox, which ones will fir the car or is there onlt one type, ive heard of one called the mtx 75.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
