Hello
I have a question and would be grateful for any opinions.
I need to change the rear springs on my focus 2003 TDCI and am finding the wishbone bolts are well and truly rusted solid. I have new wishbones and new bolts and nuts for them, and don't see a problem with removing/destroying/replacing the two bolts-nuts used for the two alignment positions on the wishbones. However the nuts for the bolts holding the wishbones to the tie bar and knuckles (wheel hubs) are welded on the frame. My question is if these welded nuts were detached to get these bolts out could I just use one of my new wishbone bolts-nuts to secure the wishbone to the tie bar and knuckle provided it was loctited and torqued correctly? Also would this method of securing the wheel end of the wishbone have any impact on the MOT inspection?
oh I have tried penetrating oil and a breaker bar on these bolts-nuts and they won't budge.

Cheers
