Hi All

Just picked up my first Ford and thus first Focus on the 15th Jan.

Its a 59 plate Focus Zetec S (pre reg - delivery milage) in Metallic grey with the sports pck (18" alloys and tinted rear glass) and BlueTooth. I traded in an 09 plate Renault Megane Dynamique (which 'kills' the focus on added tech, but itself was let down by a 1.5l diesel engine with a dodgy resonance/vibration issue)

Not done many miles in it yet - just to couple of trips of less than 10 miles and keeping the revs down, but first impressions are mixed...

Not the cars fault but I was a bit miffed that I missed out on the smart new aluminium inserts on the arm rests of the interior doors -as these are apparently only on 2010 models and mine was registered Oct 09.

Also, think I am going to have issues being able to see out of that dark (did not think it would be that dark) rear window (particularly at night) when parking (but thats probably down to me being on my motorcycle too much and not enough in the car! for additional practice) - probably will need parking sensors!

I think the alloys are too good for me - I am def going to scrape them up!!! The perils of street parking.

Seriously though...The car has a list price of a tad under £21,000 (obviously paid nowhere near this) - and it does not come with electric rear windows, or other little 'luxuries' like height adjustable passenger seat, instrument panel dimmer, or digital temperature control panel - never mind even a handy little light around the ignition switch to help key entry) My old 05 plate Seat Leon had this stuff, and more. The Megane, for 2.5k less money had cruise control, speed limiter, automatic wipers, headlights (+ see me home), double ISOFIX points without the need to specify this. I am sure you get a better handling caar in the Focus - but come on Ford - don't be stingy!!

So why...? Of course I knew all of this (apart from the lack of rear window electrics! that was a shock - just assumed) before I bought it, but none the less, I wonder why Ford are so under spec compared to Japenese or French cars?
