Hi,
My focus started to lose power this morning - we were after leaving home, and when it went into third gear, it lost all power, the engine cut out and the battery and oil lights came on. The engine was started again straightaway, as we had thought it had just cut out at a junction, but once through the next one, approx 2 minutes later, the same thing happened again..

Would anyone have any ideas as to what i could be that is causing my car to cut out??

The mileage is 88000km's, and its service was due at 85k. The car is the 2008 Ford Focus Tdci Style model.

Could it be the timing belt??? I know they can cause lots of probs if they aren't changed on time - they never mentioned in the garage when it was due for changing, so i'm not sure when it's even due.

Change the gas filter. We have a 2001 Ford Focus that was doing the same thing. Let it set for awhile and go some further until it starts again?

Our fuel filter is underneath by the gas tank, back by the RR floorboard. A good tire company usually has a decent mechanic who can stick it on a rack and change it in 5 minutes. Otherwise you'll be crawling around on the ground!
