Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can help please.
After changing a suspension strut yesterday after breaking a spring, today I had a squealing noise coming from the nsf wheel. An investigation revealed something catching the disc. I shall attempt to describe! Where the lower wishbone meets the hub, there is a rose joint type connection. This is fastened in the hub with a bolt in a 'pinch' style, ie, tightening the bolt pinches the hub onto the rose joint bolt. Over the top of the hub/pinch area is a thin metal bracket that you push to 'spring' over and locate at the top, this then passes between the hub and rose joint and exits between the hub and disc and appears to protect the rubber of the rose joint as it is shaped in a semi circle. This is the item that fouls the disc. This only started happening since I changed the strut but I didnt touch this bolt/wishbone area deliberately. This is my question, eventually. Do you think I have inadvertantly turned it onto the disc or 'sprained' it outwards? I have no garage and it was getting dark so for now I sprained it back off the disc. Also, there is not this bracket on the osf wheel. It may not be its proper name, but as I dont know for sure I referred to the rose joint as such.
Thanks for reading and any replies in advance.
