Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can help please.
After changing a suspension strut yesterday after breaking a spring, today I had a squealing noise coming from the nsf wheel. An investigation revealed something catching the disc. I shall attempt to describe! Where the lower wishbone meets the hub, there is a rose joint type connection. This is fastened in the hub with a bolt in a 'pinch' style, ie, tightening the bolt pinches the hub onto the rose joint bolt. Over the top of the hub/pinch area is a thin metal bracket that you push to 'spring' over and locate at the top, this then p{Bad Word: Moderated}es between the hub and rose joint and exits between the hub and disc and appears to protect the rubber of the rose joint as it is shaped in a semi circle. This is the item that fouls the disc. This only started happening since I changed the strut but I didnt touch this bolt/wishbone area deliberately. This is my question, eventually. Do you think I have inadvertantly turned it onto the disc or 'sprained' it outwards? I have no garage and it was getting dark so for now I sprained it back off the disc. Also, there is not this bracket on the osf wheel. It may not be its proper name, but as I dont know for sure I referred to the rose joint as such.
Thanks for reading and any replies in advance.
