Hi,

Yes i know it should be imposssibe to do but it has happened! i have lost the dipstick to my car. Now here is the catch it is a 1987 model and very hard to find, i have had tried various scrap yards to no avail, Online seems equally difficult. The car is in perfect condition and a fantatic little runner so i really want to find one. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the site, it's tempting to say what a dipstick. but I've done similar myself. usualy filler cap though. 1987 makes it a mk2 you never said what engine but in any case I couldnt find one for a mk2, just need to keep looking on the net and scrappies. I did find one from a mk3 engine that I think was used in mk2's as well.

Really appreciate your help,you sound like you know a bit more about cars then me .The engine is a 1.4. I will get the one on ebay and let you know how i get along.
