I got a Ford Fiesta Zetec S TDCI 09 reg so it's only 8 months old, I have now got two buckled wheels because I've been driving on A roads quite a bit.
Has anyone else got the same problem?

and also any tip on some decent alloys to get for it instead??!!

/Jo

Thank you
well I took the car for a check up cause I could feel something wasn't right, and they said that the wheels were buckled and that it was due to bad road conditions

I was just curious if anyone else have had a problem with buckled alloys is it the alloy that is weak or is it blatantly from bad road conditions

basically I want to know who's fault it is, If It's down to bad manufacturing or if it's the council that holds the full responsibility with their lack of maintaining the roads

cause either way i don't think it should happen after just 8 months of buying a brand new car

grateful for replays

3 of my fiesta's alloys are badly buckled, 1 isn't major and garage said it wouldn't need to be done.

My question is am I better off buying a complete set of new alloys rather than getting them repaired. Is there a problem with Ford alloys in general?

Take it into a ford garage and COMPLAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wheels shouldn't 'buckle' whether they're alloy or not! (unless youv'e been hammering it into pot-holes!!!!) argue the point an get them changed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What size wheels are on the car? i think its totally unacceptable for wheels to buckle on such a new car, i would be on at ford to replace them! even if you are thinking of having a set of after market wheels you arnt going sell buckled wheels for anything like what they are worth.

Hi I too have buckled alloys on my 7 month old Fiesta Titanium, I've just found the front nearside to be buckled and am going to contact dealers tomorrow.. Is this a manufacturing problem? I hear BMW have had lots of alloy wheels buckle and quite a fight is going on there....

You need to enquire at the dealer what they can do for you, if it is nothing, find a few other people with the same problem and contact watchdog, they will be all over it after the recent problems with the BMW alloy issue.

I have had the same problem with my Fiesta Titanium, in the last month I have buckled 5 alloys - 4 x hitting potholes (as the roads in South Africa aren't the greatest) and 1 x on Saturday - I hit a piece of plastic on the freeway. These alloy wheels are very, very soft and I just don't feel safe in my car anymore!

We have a four month old titanium 5 door fiesta with a slight shudder running through the car. Main dealer tells me I have 3 buckled alloy wheels down to current road conditions, not a fault of the car. Running three cars this is the only one to be effected in this way - are the wheels man enough for the job (16" 15 spoke).
